Elect to receive electronic newsletters

New members will usually be sent a link to an electronic copy of our annual newsletter and its attachments. We are however, very keen to reduce the number of hard copies that we print and mail each year, and so we ask existing members – particularly those living overseas – to consider switching from a paper version of the newsletter to the electronic version. Use the following form to tell us if you are willing to do this.

Complete this form electronically below, print and return the form here or contact membership@bhsoga.org.uk

Data Protection

Your details will be added to our secure BHSOGA database. In line with data protection legislation, your personal contact details are never passed on to anyone else without your prior written consent and our database clearly identifies those of you who have told us that only members of the committee may have access to your personal information.

You will need to complete our Data Protection Declaration, telling us whether your personal details may be passed to other BHS alumnae, the School or the GDST.

The Trust never passes on alumnae contact details to any other organisation and the members of its Alumnae Network will receive just one hard copy mailing a year of its annual publication, ‘Verve’, plus electronic newsletters once a term. Verve is an interesting magazine, containing reports on GDST affairs and alumnae successes, along with details of trips, walking tours and other exclusive events arranged for its members.

‘Class of’ – Definition

For the majority of our members, ‘class of’ will be the same year that they finished at BHS, aged 18. For those alumnae who left BHS before the end of the Sixth Form/Year 13, ‘class of’ means the end of the academic year in which they reached the age of 18, having left BHS earlier to complete their secondary education elsewhere. This date helps us to identify peer groups and is very helpful to us when organising year group reunions.
